The Power of Industry Credentials: Preparing MCMHS Students for College and Careers
Earning an industry-recognized credential while in high school is one of the most impactful ways students can prepare for success beyond graduation. At MCMHS, industry credentials are more than an added achievement—they are a direct connection between classroom learning and real-world workforce expectations.
Industry credentials validate that students have mastered skills aligned with current industry standards. These credentials provide students with a competitive advantage by strengthening résumés, increasing employability, and, in many cases, offering a head start toward postsecondary education or immediate entry into the workforce.
During this academic year, MCMHS students have demonstrated exceptional commitment to career readiness by earning the following industry credentials:
- 25 HubSpot Social Media Industry Credentials, equipping students with digital marketing and social media management skills highly valued in today’s business environment
- 166 OSHA 10 Certifications, ensuring students are trained in workplace safety standards essential across multiple industries
- 6 Southwest Airlines Professional Communications Credentials, providing students with customer service and professional communication skills aligned with industry expectations
- 39 Adult, Infant, and Child CPR/AED/First Aid Certifications, preparing students to respond confidently in emergency and healthcare-related situations
To further recognize and encourage student achievement, MCMHS awards four (4) honor points to a student’s nine-week course average once an industry credential is earned throughout the school year. This incentive acknowledges the rigor and commitment required to complete credentialing coursework while reinforcing the value of workforce-ready skills.
These accomplishments reflect the strength of MCMHS Career and Technical Education programs and the dedication of both students and instructors to high-quality, industry-aligned learning. By earning credentials while still in high school, students gain confidence, practical skills, and tangible proof of their readiness for college, careers, and life beyond the classroom.
MCMHS remains committed to expanding credential opportunities, strengthening partnerships with industry leaders, and ensuring every student has access to meaningful, workforce-relevant experiences that lead to long-term success
